Some great movies to come!

It’s been an amazing couple of months, what with the sadness of some legends passing and some great horror and sci-fi news being released.

Not only have I found myself watching more horrors on Shomi but I found myself catching up on some horrors that I saw when they first came out and didn’t think that much but since revisited and defiantly change my view on some. So I first saw “28 Days Later” back in 2002 when it was released and I have to say though it was nice to see London in a movie that was not gangster related or a soppy romance flick but I have to say I didn’t really take to the film.

Not sure if it was the story or the acting but I really didn’t care for it, even though many people I know who like me adore horror loved the movie. However over the years I have gone back and I must say, nope! Still not a lover of it. But “28 Weeks Later” now that I disliked as I kinda had the taste of “28 Days Later” in my memory, but as time passed I actually started to really like it. Story and acting was great. I loved the way the story progressed and how it actually broke many walls within the characters progression and there development throughout the film.

Danny Boyle really did a bang up job on this one and like many actors and directors they create great and not so great but that goes with the territory. So I now I hear some great news! There is a great possibility that “28 Months Later” could be in the works over the next year, now it’s no secret that Danny has committed and agreed to make the drug fuelled remake to the excellent 1996 “Trainspotting” bringing the characters together 20 years later to see where they are at.

So let’s hope he can bang this film out before March of next year so the crew can get a working scripted by June and hopefully start shooting by September next year. Also announced “Saw VIII” and rumoured is Tobin Bell to reprise his role as Jigsaw. This is something I am excited about because though I love to death all forms of horror I do like to watch a bit of a physiological horror to break the slasher, and zombie chasing movie monotony.

Now also it has been announced since May 2013 and in development status since then, but a remake of the 1980’s classic cuddly little Mogwai Gizmo and the evil little Gremlin is due to move forward soon. So we could see Gremlins popping out next year sometime.
